Hey all, I'm looking into getting a semi-auto 12 gauge for clay shooting. I've narrowed my choices down to three brands and was wanting some input, thanks!
CZ: 912 or 920
Weatherby: SA-08 or Element
Remington: 1100, 1187, or V3
I love gun shopping. Best advice, make sure the gun fits. You will know the feel and the gun always speaks to me when it is the right one. Gas or inertia?
Ok, I'll back the first two posts; first, fit, and then reliability. If it doesn't fit, you'll not be able to shoot to your full ability, regardless of how reliable it is. Take your time, talk to some experienced shooters, some senior shooters who understand gun fit and who have, over the years, likely had both good and maybe a few bad experiences with different guns.
If it's possible to try a gun; that is, actually shoot a round or two with it, that's even better. Best wishes.
We have seen a number of reliability issues with the CZ semi-autos at our range - lots of misfires, hangfires etc. Also, typically the release button is quite stiff, often too much so for younger shooters to be able to operate.
I have four shotguns, the four listed below this post.Out of the all I like the cheapest one the best. That's the Maverick M-88 12 Ga.pump shotgun.
