Newbie from the Natural State

Alright, so I'm new to shotguns as I have been a deer hunter all my life and mainly shot a .270, .30-06, or .30-30 but I am wanting to invest in a good shotgun soon...possibly with tax refund and birthday cash. What are some good suggestions on a good shotgun for a beginner? It will mainly be used for squirrel and recreational shooting but would like to try duck hunting down the road. I've been looking into the Remington 870. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Welcome from down in Florida. We have a few 870s here and we like 'em a lot. Good solid, dependable pump gun at a decent price. Millions sold over many decades with many, many happy owners. Hard to see how you could go wrong with an 870.
